The
Good – The Bad – The Best
This
is a “short report” on our recent trip to visit some of our RAIN pastors and
ministers in Kenya.
The Good:
Machakos
After almost 24 hours of
planes, airports, and no sleep, we arrived in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.
Our host pastors had all assembled to meet us there before going on to
our destinations.
Pastor
Onesmus Mwanzia from the city of Machakos was our first destination. His church,
Abundant Victory Christian Center, was packed with several hundred people
awaiting the Word of God and personal prayer.
Pastor
Percy Mulbah joined us on the second day from the US. As word got out into the
surrounding community, people came from near and far to receive prayer for
healing and deliverance. At the close of each day, we literally would have two
lines of people lined up for prayer, and we would pray for people until all had
been prayed for. Often taking several hours to do so.
Pastor
Mwanzia and his wife, Esther, are a dedicated couple to soul winning and
ministering to the needs of the people. I definitely see an evangelistic calling
within this man of God.
A
couple of highlights from here was one of his leaders had been attacked by thugs
and beaten up so bad it left him blind in one eye, as well as, nerve damage so
the eye wouldn’t “track” simeoultanesly with the other eye. After a couple
of hours of helping us through the language barrier while praying for the people
it was his turn. I put my “handkerchief” (Acts 19:11-12) over his blind eye
and told him to cover his good eye with his hand.
I
then ask him, “Do you believe you’re going to see when I remove this
cloth?” He replied, “Yes, I do.” Immediately his eye began to
focus and sight was totally restored. As well as, both eyes now tracked
together. Just in case you’re wondering, he was indeed still “seeing” the
next day.
Another
incident involved a woman who had been to the witchdoctor and her face was
swollen and distorted beyond recognition. Her eyes were swollen shut, and her
face was as big as a basketball. I’ve never seen anything like it. After
receiving Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior the demons were cast out and she
left a different woman.
(Thank
you Onesmus and Esther)
Bungoma:
Pastor
Mark and Miriam Okanga did an excellent job in organizing very successful
leaders meetings, with pastors, Bishops, and evangelist from as far away as
Uganda. This was definitely one of the highlights as “apostolic fathers”
love ministering to ministers.
We
layed hands on men of God and prayed for the release of impartation to fulfill
their destinies in Christ. Many healings took place as well, including hearing
being restored to Pastor Mark’s wife, Miriam in one ear.
A
good spirit of cooperation was present and key leaders (Bishops) received
prophetic words regarding their leadership without us knowing who anyone was in
the natural. All in all, my personal passion for ministering to the ministers
was met here. If you can reach the
leaders, you can reach the nation.
(Thank you Mark and Miriam)
Harambee:
Pastor Joel Shiundu and his
wife, Maximillah, proved to be a tremendous help to us in communication and
translation. While most Kenyan’s speak “some” English, not all understood
what I was saying. Pastor Joel was a tremendous asset to me in interpreting and
getting the “Word” across.
Everywhere we went the
Heaven’s were opened and it “poured rain”. Do you think God is speaking
through this? It “poured RAIN” everywhere we went. Pastor Joel’s church
was no exception, I told the people that Sunday afternoon while the sun was
still shining that it would rain. If there was any doubt in anyone’s mind it
was soon dashed as it rained so hard and so loud we couldn’t even continue
preaching because of the noise.
Again,
we prayed for all the leaders and the sick. One person in particular was a lady
that I later found out was the pastor’s wife of the church we would be
ministering to the next day. As I looked down at her stomach it appeared she was
pregnant. Out of my mouth I said, “I break the curse off of you and bless
all that is within you.”
She had been with child for
quite sometime and nothing had happened, (it is not unheard of in Africa – due
to witchcraft- that women can remain pregnant anywhere from 1-2 years! No
kidding!!) Later that evening she went into labor. I received an email after I
returned home that she had a boy – and they named him Eddie Rogers! (Bless
him, Jesus!)
(Thank you Joel and
Maximillah)
The
Bad:
I do not want anyone to
think they can just go somewhere at God’s direction and not face adversities.
While we have the victory – you must understand the enemy doesn’t give up
or, give in, without a battle. This trip was no exception. Of all my years in
overseas ministry, without a doubt, this one was the worst when it comes to
aggravation and frustration.
The
second day I was there I got “food poisoning” that basically ran the rest of
the trip until I got home. Not fun. You’re praying for the sick and seeing
miracles left and right. More miracles than I have room to print. And at the
same time I needed prayer myself. Go figure.
Nevertheless,
that wasn’t the biggest frustration. Communication was terrible. Awful.
Unacceptable. Beyond contempt. I was told there is American time and then there
is African time. I work on neither. I work on God’s timetable period! If we
say we will be somewhere at a certain time. Men of God, be there! We are
ambassadors for the King of Kings, we represent Heaven’s schedule, not the
world’s schedule.
We were picked up as
much as 2 ½ hours late, to entirely missing a meeting, when were less than 5
minutes away from the church by car. I asked once between services to pick me up
in 15 minutes, as I wanted some quite time and prayer before we spoke to the
leaders again. My driver shows up an hour and 15 minutes later. Meeting is over.
With only a “Sorry, boss” – for an excuse. Absolutely unacceptable from
someone who calls themselves a “man of God.”
This
is why we need RAIN to minister to the ministers. We must be accountable to God
and each other. I’ll just stop here…I could write a book on this topic.
The
Best:
Dr.
Edward Owour
http://www.repentandpreparetheway.org/
After learning about this
mighty man of God last year, we began a pursuit to see if a meeting could be
arranged before we left Nairobi to come home. Dr. Owour now sees upwards of one
million people in his crusades in Kenya, as well as, miracle crusades around the
world.
A
very powerful prophet of God who sees and hears accurately the word of the Lord.
The Presence he carries is very tangible when he walks into the room. The
meeting was more than I could have hoped for. So much more than I could have
imagined.
When
this man of God prophesies it comes to pass.
God is using him on a global scale to speak into nations and leaders. I
encourage you to check out his website for more.
The
Lord showed us to him in a dream 2 days prior to our arrival and what he was to
“speak into our lives.” He assured me that once the “terrible tongue of
the Lord” had spoken, it would come to pass, and if I were disobedient to the
Heavenly vision (Acts 26:19) – I would pay the consequences. Thus, I knew this
was the word of the Lord.
We received a very powerful
impartation from this humble, yet, powerful servant of the Lord. The Lord had
also showed him we had been “set up” to be robbed at the last “hotel” (I
use the term “hotel” very loosely) we were to stay at. The servant of the
Lord personally took us in his own private car to get our bags out of that hotel
and take us to a safe place to spend our last night in Kenya.
All of my former
“frustrations” were relieved after this meeting. The prophet of God told me
the reason God had brought me to Kenya was to meet him, receive the word of the
Lord, and begin a relationship that I eagerly await to “go to the next
level.”
Due
to space and time, I will close here. Here is the “Teaching of the Week”
– (TOTW)
Often,
God will “set us up” to see if we will pass the “test” in order to
receive promotion to the next level.
Is
God setting you up? Have you passed the test? Or, will you go around that
mountain one more time?
"The
Lord our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying: ‘You have dwelt long enough at this
mountain. Deut 1:6
My
love and embrace,
